Nebraska Winter Wheat 47% Good-Excellent April 3, 2017

Nebraska winter wheat condition rated 2% very poor, 9% poor, 42% fair, 42% good, and 5% excellent, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service report released today.

Oat planting was 28% complete, ahead of 18% last year and 25% for the five-year average.

Topsoil moisture supplies rated 6% very short, 19% short, 67% adequate, and 8% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 9% very short, 25% short, 64% adequate, and 2% surplus.

Nationally, 0f the 18 states planting the most winter wheat condition was rated: 3% very poor, 11% poor, 35% fair, 45% good, and 6% excellent.
