New Corn Rootworm Webcast on the Plant Management Network

Sept. 18, 2015

This week a new webcast was added to the series — Corn Rootworm Management in the Transgenic Era. In the 20-minute presentation, Nicholas Tinsley of the University of Illinois Department of Crop Sciences looks at "Estimation of Efficacy Functions for Products Used to Manage Corn Rootworm Larval Injury."

The presentation will "help growers, crop consultants, and extension agents throughout the Midwet to understand more about the relative efficacy of options that are currently available to manage corn rootworm larval injury." Examples are used to demonstrate how to use efficacy information when making corn rootworm management decisions.

This series, which includes presentations by UNL Entomologists Robert Wright and Lance Meinke, addresses the changing face of corn rootworm management since BT corn hybrids were introduced and now as susceptibilities have evolved.
