Market Journal: Timely Weed Control, Managing Spray Drift

On this week's Market Journal Bob Klein, UNL Extension western Nebraska crops specialist, discusses why timely weed control after wheat harvest will benefit next year's crop. Nebraska research has shown that not controlling weeds directly after wheat harvest can equate with a soil moisture loss of as much as three inches. And that water loss can equate to a yield loss of 30 bu/ac in next year's corn or sorghum crop.
