From Farms to Families Program Feb. 16 in Bruning

Today’s agriculture is constantly changing, making it important for producers and their families to stay knowledgeable on current issues.

From Farms to Families is a program designed to empower women involved in agriculture and rural communities with a better understanding of issues that affect their operation’s profitability and help them become more effective.

At the next program Participants will learn about canning and food preservation, basic animal and plant health issues, and healthy meal options that are quick and convenient.  Alice Henneman, UNL Extension educator and editor of the website, Food.unl.edu, will be giving the foods presentations. Henneman is a nationally known food safety and nutrition expert who uses multiple media formats and distribution channels to meet consumer information needs.

The program, which will be Thursday, February 16 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Opera House in Bruning, costs $25 and includes materials and a light meal.
