Call for Proposals for Water: Science, Practice, and Policy Conference - UNL CropWatch, July 2012

Proposals are currently being accepted for the Water: Science, Practice and Policy Conference, a one-day showcase of water-related natural, physical, and social sciences research and innovative programming.

The conference, hosted by the Nebraska Water Center at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the USGS Nebraska Water Science Center, will be Nov. 13 in Lincoln.

The geographic focus will be Nebraska and the Great Plains, including research or programming that's transferrable to Nebraska and the Great Plains.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations can be submitted online and are due by 8 a.m. Monday, July 23.  Accepted authors will be notified in August.

Water-related presentations from a range of disciplines are welcomed, including fish and wildlife, habitat, agriculture, irrigation, stormwater management, modeling, atmospheric sciences, geology, geography, econoics, business, sociology,. and political science.  Oral presentations will be approximately 10-15 minutes long, including 2-5 minutes for audience questions.

The Water Law Conference will be held Nov. 14, also at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln. This conference focuses on Nebraska water law for practicing attorneys and others with an interest in this area.

The Nebraska Water Center is part of the Daughtery Water for Food Institute.
