We have a leasing culture that works well most of the time. There is an element of trust and responsibility that leads to fair, win-win situations. But in these very turbulent times of rapidly changing economic conditions, it is especially critical that both landowner and tenant work to keep their agreements current. In fact, even though the parties may agree to a multi-year rental contract, it is best that rental rate levels be negotiated annually.
