Organic Production Workshop March 19

A workshop on organic production is set for Wednesday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Grant. Topics will include reasons for organic farming with UNL Extension Sustainable Ag/Landscape Design Specialist Chuck Francis; economics and marketing of organics with UNL Extension Educator Terry Gompert; cover crops, organic certification and grass-fed beef/organic livestock production.

The workshop is sponsored by UNL Extension, NRCS and the North Central Region of USDA’s Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program.

Registration is due by Friday, March 14. Make checks out to UNL Extension-Perkins County and send to: Perkins County Extension, PO Box 99, Grant, NE 69149. For more information, contact Perkins County Extension at (308) 352-4340. Cost per person is $10, which includes breakfast and lunch.
