Learn What EQIP Funds Can Offer

A March 7 meeting in Blue Hill will explore how the federal Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) can help producers install or implement structural and management practices on eligible acres. The program offers incentive payments and cost-share options for adopting specific practices.

The program, which is being sponsored by UNL Extension and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Nebraska, will be at the Blue Hill Community Center from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, March 7.

Topics will include:

How “EQIP” can be used in a producer’s operation
Learn about conversion of gravity irrigation to sprinkler irrigation
Learn about many converting cropland to grassland
Learn about programs for acreage owners
