Wheat condition improved from last week and rated 3% very poor, 11% poor, 35% fair, 41% good, and 10% excellent, below last year. Wheat jointed was at 29%, ahead of last year’s 21% and the 22% average.
Corn planted was 9% complete. This is behind last year’s 14% and five-year average of 11%.
Oats planted increased to 67%, but remained well behind the 85% of last year and average. Oats emerged was at 20%, well behind last year’s 32% and 41% average.
Alfalfa conditions improved from last week and rated 9% very poor, 15% poor, 43% fair, 31% good, and 2% excellent, but remain well below last year’s 73% good or excellent condition.
