There are four levels of information for exporting beef, according to Galen Erickson, UNL extension beef feedlot nutrition specialist. They are: source verified, age verified, hormone free and antibiotic free. Erickson talks with program host Doug Jose, UNL extension agricultural economist, about these types and why it’s important to calculate the costs so a producer knows how much price enhancement is needed to make it profitable. Rick Rasby, UNL extension beef specialist, urges producers to at least keep basic records pertaining to age source.
