“We’ll have representatives from the commercial seed companies on hand to discuss their plot entries,” said James Vorderstrasse, NeGSPA Director and Plot Coordinator. “Farmers will be able to see and compare hybrids for themselves.”
A barbeque dinner, featuring sorghum brownies for dessert, will be served at 7 p.m. The evening program will include an address by a National Sorghum Producers representative on the 2007 Farm Bill and provisions of particular importance to sorghum producers’ bottom line. Speakers also will discuss the proposed national sorghum check-off and the industry’s focus for the future.
The event will also include a yield guessing contest and door prizes.
