USDA season-average price forecasts

USDA recently released information about a futures-price forecasting model used to provide season-average price forecasts for corn, soybeans, and wheat. In addition to the monthly forecasts for prices received, the model computes a forecast for the counter-cyclical payment rate for each commodity. To learn more about this USDA model, visit the
Season-Average Price Forecasts Web site. Spreadsheet models are available for corn, soybeans and wheat. Note that the model forecasts are not official USDA forecasts. Visit the Web site to access official forecasts and USDA counter cyclical payment rates.

The site also links to Forecasting the Counter-Cyclical Payment Rate for U.S. Corn: An Application of the Futures Price Forecasting Model.
