Field crop update

Corn harvest was 93% complete, behind last year’s 98% and near the 94% average. Harvest continued to be least advanced in the Southwest District.

Sorghum harvest was 96% complete, behind the 100% of last year and even with the average.

Winter wheat conditions declined and rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 38% fair, 52% good, and 7% excellent, which is now below a year ago. Conditions have declined due to dry weather and depleting soil moisture profiles.
