"New Tools for Your Crop Insurance Toolbox" will offer farmers and ranchers, crop insurance agents, agricultural lenders, marketing consultants, agricultural educators and other risk management service providers advice from university specialists, faculty and staff and industry representatives.

"The workshop will help participants enhance their ability to formulate an appropriate risk management plan for their farm or ranch or provide risk management advice to clients," said Doug Jose, University of Nebraska-Lincoln farm management specialist.

The workshop is jointly sponsored by extension at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Kansas State University and Colorado State University. The workshop also will be offered Nov. 7 in Brush, Colo., and Nov. 8 in Salina, Kan. Presentations include: The New Farm Bill: Who, What and When?, Data Mining Procedures to Reduce Fraud and Abuse, AGR Lite, GRIP and How it Might Serve As an Alternative to Low Yields, The ABCs and 123s of LGM and LRP Insurance, Current RMA Issues and Status of Water in the Great Plains.

Continuing education credits are approved. Nebraska is approved for six crop credits. Kansas is approved for twp crop credits or six PC credits. South Dakota is approved for seven credits. Colorado and Wyoming credits are pending.
