Materials cover topics related to winter wheat varieties, soil fertility, seedbed and planting, weed control, insects, diseases, irrigation, economics, marketing, feeding and utilization, and fallow management. The site also has links to recent CropWatch articles related to winter wheat. Visitors to this site can sign up to receive e-mail notifications when new materials have been added to the site.
Another on-line resource from UNL Extension is the Wheat Varieties Virtual Tour at www.panhandle.unl.edu/wheat At this site growers can research wheat varieties recommended for their region of the state. Visitors can view three-year average yields for recommended varieties, compare wheat variety characteristics, and identify certified seed dealers who carry the varieties of most interest.
