USDA extends emergency grazing on CRP acres to Nov. 10

The window for emergency livestock grazing on Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres has been extended from September 30 to November 10.

Emergency grazing of CRP has been approved in all or part of 53 Nebraska counties previously approved (see map). All of the provisions of emergency CRP grazing, including minimum stubble heights, still apply.

After CRP haying and grazing has been completed, other management activities such as disking and inter-seeding can be authorized.

CRP rental payments will be reduced by only 10% instead of the standard 25% on CRP lands that are grazed in 2006. Additional information on the extended emergency grazing of CRP acres is available from FSA county offices staff.
