A tour of garbonzo bean production in no-till cropping systems will begin at 10 a.m. July 31, leaving from the Watson Brothers farm. To get there, go east of Berea to CR 61 then north one-half mile. Carlos Urrea, UNL Extension dry bean breeding specialist, will discuss issues of chick pea and dry edible bean production.
Sunflower Tour
The fourth in a series of tours on Managing Sunflower in the R Stages, will begin Monday, July 31 at 2 p.m. Participants should meet at Doug Hashman’s no-till field 1.5 miles east of Hemingford (the same start as Tour 3). Insect and disease management will be the focus topics for this tour.
