On this week's Market Journal:

Using low quality forages

This week Market Journal program host Doug Jose visits with Rick Rasby, UNL beef specialist, about what producers need to do when using low quality foages. One option is to ammoniate hay, which increases digestibility 10-15% and makes a product that is good to feed with an alfalfa supplement just prior to calving.

Also on this week's Market Journal Jose, a UNL Extension ag economist, and guests also will discuss:

On next week's Market Journal Extension Ag Economist Darrell Mark will report on the mid-year livestock reports and Market Journal will look at a new EQIP incentive program which allows Republican River basin irrigators to permanently retire their irrigated acres.

Market Journal — UNL Extension's television for ag business decisions — is broadcast Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on Dish Network NAUHS 9411 and Time Warner Cable Channel 21 in Lincoln; Saturdays at 7 a.m. on NET1; and Sundays at 9 a.m. on NET2. Show segments and podcasting are available on the Market Journal Web site.
