Northwest Nebraska No-till Field Day July 13

The third annual Northwest Nebraska No-till Field Day will be held this Thursday, July 13 at the Watson Brothers Farm near Alliance. The free field day will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and include supper.

Program topics will include: nutrient placement, limited moisture cropping situations; NRD water issues; irrigation, soil quality, wildlife opportunities, and equipment. Featured speakers will include Ray Ward, owner, Ward Laboratories, Kearney, Mike Peterson, Dan Gillespie, NRCS state no-till specialist, and Gary Hergert, Extension Nutrient Management Specialist, Panhandle REC, Scottsbluff.

Sponsors include the Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District, Natural Resources Conservation Service in Nebraska, Farmer's Co-op, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The field day will be held at the Watson Brothers Farm, 1561 County Road 61, near Alliance. To reach the site from Hwy 385, turn east on Jefferson Road (across from Simplot, near Berea) and go four miles east to CR 61. Turn north on CR61 and go 0.5 mile to the farm.
