Thirty-minute programs will be broadcast daily at MarketJournal.unl.edu at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from the "Market Journal" presentation stage next to the Husker Red metal building at lot 325 on East Third Street of the showgrounds, said Jim Randall, coordinator of electronic media in the Communications and Information Technology unit in the University's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The "Market Journal" programs will be hosted by Doug Jose, UNL farm management specialist.

The Sept. 13 presentation, "Marketing for Profit," will discuss marketing strategies producers can take back home and use this fall. Some of the items discussed during this segment will include: the impact of the booming ethanol industry and where corn and livestock producers should position themselves in the markets, livestock scenarios and corn storage.
The closing day of "Market Journal" and Husker Harvest Days Sept. 14 will discuss marketing strategies and tips that producers should consider using for this fall's crops and others to consider for 2007 crops.
Given a more than 30 cents per bushel carry between December 2006 and July 2007 corn, the program, "Marketing Tools to Reduce Risk," will discuss opportunities producers might have to "sell the carry" and grain from a basis improvement.
In addition, using accumulator contracts and how minimum/maximum price contracts might have performed this year and how to market 2007 corn and soybeans using these new generation contracts also will be discussed. The program will highlight the Market Journal Toolbox that will be featured during Husker Harvest Days. Six Market Journal Toolboxes will be given away during Husker Harvest Days.
Viewers also will have a chance to ask questions after all programs. As a special feature, the "Market Journal" television personalities will be available at the "Market Journal" tent to visit on Wednesday from 3-4 p.m.
