UNL's exhibit: A one-stop information center at Husker Harvest Days

Plan to stop by the University of Nebraska -Lincoln (UNL) Husker Red building during Husker Harvest Days for a look at UNL Extension programs covering a wide range of agricultural issues and topics. The “Husker Red” metal building is located at Lot 325.
UNL’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) will have the most exhibits ever for Nebraska producers and families at the show.
“Exhibits and displays target key topics and issues that impact a large cross-section of Nebraskans,” said Larry Schulze, IANR Husker Harvest Days Coordinator and Pesticide Education Specialist. “It’s a one-stop information center.”
New in 2006 are ornamental plantings of grasses, wildflowers, and shrubs for Nebraskans to consider for their turf and landscape needs. The exhibit also will feature interactive Horticulture Highlight discussions with UNL Extension specialists.
“We enjoy meeting our friends and answering their questions at Husker Harvest Days. Our exhibits are specifically oriented to maximizing ag production, doing so efficiently, and maintaining Nebraska’s high quality of life. Nebraskans have been learning at our exhibits since the very first Husker Harvest Days show in 1978.”

UNL will host a news conference for Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and State Ag Director Greg Ibach on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the UNL exhibit building. The news conference will be carried live over UNL’s Market Journal Web site.
Potential UNL students can learn about enrollment and educational opportunities by visiting with representatives from the colleges of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture (Curtis). All IANR campus departments are represented and have information about courses of study and majors.
IANR’s Market Journal program will deliver live, video-streaming Internet programs from its studio at the Husker Red building. Husker Harvest Day visitors are invited to sit in the shade to view the programs. The program schedule is:
- Tuesday, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Getting Started with Precision Ag
- Wednesday, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Marketing For Profit
- Thursday, 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. Meeting Nebraska’s Agricultural Needs
