The Panhandle No-till Partnership will be hosting six field days in late June to look at continuous no-till crop production on dryland farms.

Presentations will cover all aspects of continuous no-till crop production in the Panhandle and field days will provide opportunities so producers can visit with other no-till producers. Growers are encouraged to bring their questions and share ideas with other producers interested in learning more about continuous no till crop production.

Production and marketing of field peas will be discussed at each field day. Field peas are becoming an established crop in continuous no-till crop production in this region and are being used to transition from a fall harvested crop to winter wheat.

Schedule

Panhandle No-till Partnership field days will be held across the Panhandle. Meals will be provided following each field day.

Clinton — June 24, 9 a.m.
Curt Roth farm at 6072 270th Lane, Gordon. Directions: From the east side of Clinton, travel south on 270th Lane for 1.5 miles. Curt’s farm is on the east side of the road.

Alliance — June 25, 9 a.m.
Watson Brothers farm at 1561 County Road 61. Directions: Approximately 10 miles north of Alliance from highway 385 turn east on Jefferson Road and travel 4 miles east to County Road 61, turn north on 61 and go 1/2 mile north; from Highway 87 turn west on Jefferson Road and travel west 2 miles to County Road 61, then go 1/2 mile north.

Harrisburg — June 26, 9 a.m.
Art Olsen farm at 2322 Road 14, Harrisburg. Directions: Travel approximately 25 miles south of Gering on Hwy 71, then turn west on County Road 14 and drive 10 miles west.

Dalton — June 26, 2:30 p.m.
Mark and Pat Ernest farm at 5485 Road 125, Dalton.  Directions: from Dalton drive 1 mile south on Highway 385, turn east on County Road 56, then drive east 5.5 miles to County Road 125. From County Road 125 turn south and travel south one quarter of a mile, then turn east down the driveway to Mark Ernest’s farmyard.

Big Springs — June 27, 9 a.m.
Stetson Shreve’s farm north of Big Springs.  Directions. From Big Springs go 1 mile north to the Highway 30 junction,  travel east on Highway 30 for 1 mile, turn north and travel one mile, then travel ¼ mile east to the farm.

Brandon — June 27, 2:30 p.m.
Steve Tucker farm at 7540 Road 316, Brandon. Directions: From Brandon go 2 miles west on Highway 23 to County Road 316, turn north and travel 1 mile to Tucker farm.
