As we near the start of spring, Nebraska topsoil moisture supplies rated 4% very short, 30% short, and 66% adequate, according to today's Nebraska report from the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Subsoil moisture rated 8% very short, 26% short, 65% adequate, and 1% surplus.

Crop Condition

Winter wheat condition was rated 3% poor, 35% fair, 57% good, and 5% excellent.

Livestock Condition

Cattle and calf conditions rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 13% fair, 73% good, and 13% excellent.
Sheep and lamb conditions rated 13% fair, 76% good, and 11% excellent.
Hay and roughage supplies rated 6% short, 92% adequate, and 2% surplus.
Stock water supplies rated 8% short, 91% adequate, and 1% surplus.
