On this week's Market Journal UNL Extension Educator Keith Glewen discusses the On-Farm Research Network and why this is a good time to start planning a research project for next year. The on-farm research project is sponsored by UNL Extension, the Nebraska Corn Board, the Nebraska Corn Growers Association and the Nebraska Soybean Board.

• Update on Brazil and Argentina Crops -- The U.S. is expected to harvest nearly 107 million metric tons of soybeans this season. While farmers in Brazil in Argentina are projected to produce less than this, both countries are showing an increase over last year. Alastair Stewart, DTN South America correspondent, gives an update on Brazil's soybean planting and discusses policy issues in Brazil and Argentina.
   
• Commodity Market Players — Cory Walters, UNL Extension crop economist, talks about the evolution of commodity markets and the purpose of commodity index traders.

As a record corn and soybean harvest wraps up across the country, farmers watching the markets are looking ahead to the USDA's November Crop Report. Roy Smith will analyze corn and soybean markets ahead of the agency's latest estimates. UNL Ag Economist Kate Brooks will provide an outlook on livestock.
