Continued development of herbicide resistance in crops will reduce chemical weed control options in the future. How can you delay this from happening and keep as many pest management options in your toolbox as possible?

Attend one of this year's University of Nebraska–Lincoln Crop Production Clinics to learn about UNL research on resistance management and recommendations to help you maintain multiple crop management tools. Speakers also will address adjustments relative to the extended drought and extremely dry soil conditions across the state. (Nebraska leads the nation in the percent of acres in the most extreme drought categories.) 

Crop Production Clinic topics, which may vary slightly from site to site, will feature presentations from Extension specialists and educators on soil fertility, soil water and irrigation management, crop production, agricultural business management and policy, pesticide safety, and disease, insect and weed management. Pesticide Applicator Recertification also will be offered. The program for each site will be available soon on the Crop Production Clinic website.

Registration and Information

The fee to recertify as a commercial, non-commerical, or private applicator is $60.  (Visit the UNL Pesticide Safety Education website for details on advanced registration and required study materials.) 

If you are not recertifying, the program fee is $50. The fee includes a noon meal, refreshments, the 2013 Guide for Weed Management in Nebraska with Insecticide and Fungicide Information and the 2013 Crop Production Clinic Proceedings.

Preregistration for the Crop Production Clinics is strongly encouraged at least three days prior to the event. Registration will be available on the CPC website (credit card or invoice) or at the door (cash, check, or credit card). On-site registration is from 8:00-8:45 a.m.

Certified crop advisors may earn a maximum of six CEUs in the following categories: integrated pest management (6), soil and water (2), nutrient management (1), crop production (1), and professional development (2). Attendees can earn a maximum of 6 CEUs at a location. Certified crop advisors are required to bring their CCA number to apply for CEU credits.
