Market Journal: Cut Wheat Stubble High

Bob Klein, UNL extension cropping systems specialist, says the key to getting a good wheat crop next year is leaving tall stubble when cutting this year's crop. Good stubble adds to the soil organic matter, increases soil temperature, controls soil erosion and conserves moisture, Klein said when talking with Doug Jose on this week's Market Journal. Klein also recommends using a stripper header.
