Market Journal:

June 29, 2007

On this week's Market Journal John Smith, Extension agricultural engineer, visits with program host Doug Jose about the importance of maintaining planter seed drop tubes to ensure a good seed stand. If they are rough or feel like sandpaper, replace them, Smith advises. Worn seed drop tubes can affect seed depth and placement.

  • Hogs and Pigs Report with Darrell Mark, UNL extension livestock marketing specialist;
  • Water Optimizer Program with Gary Hergert, UNL extension nutrient management specialist;
  • Make Every Sow Sold Help Pay the Feed Bill with Duane Reese, UNL extension swine specialist;
  • Weather with Al Dutcher, Nebraska state climatologist

Market Journal is broadcast Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on DishNetwork NAUHS 9411, Saturdays at 7 a.m. on NET1 and Sundays at 9 a.m. on NETV2 (all times central). Visit the Market Journal Web site at marketjournal.unl.edu to watch current or previous programs.
