Corn conditions rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 16% fair, 47% good, and 32% excellent, well above last year's 55% good or excellent rating. Irrigated fields rated 87% good or excellent while dryland fields rated 66%, both above year ago levels. Corn in the dough stage was 88%, near last year's 89% and ahead of the 82% average. Corn in the dent stage was 46%, behind last year's 49% but ahead of the 36% average.

Soybean conditions rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 21% fair, 50% good, and 25% excellent, well above last year's 50% good or excellent condition. Soybean setting pods was 93%, behind last year's 96% and even with the average. Soybean turning color was 1% behind last year's 4% and 5% average.

Alfalfa conditions rated 4% very poor, 11% poor, 25% fair, 47% good, and 13% excellent, well above last year's 26% good or excellent condition. Third cutting was 65% complete, behind last year's 76% and 72% average.

Sorghum conditions rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 18% fair, 53% good, and 26% excellent, well above last year's 53% good or excellent condition. Sorghum headed was 92%, ahead of last year's 89% and 84% average. Sorghum turning color was 13%, behind last year's 22% and 19% average.

Dry bean conditions rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 23% fair, 62% good, and 10% excellent, above last year's 71% good or excellent condition. Dry bean blooming was 98%, behind last year's 100% but ahead of the 97% average. Dry bean setting pods was 75%, well behind last year's 97% and 85% average. Dry bean turning color was 7%, behind last year's 11% and 10% average.
