Snowpack in the Rocky Mountains has been better than it has been for four or five years, according to Mark Svoboda, UNL geoscientist and guest speaker on this week's Market Journal. This is leading to consideraly higher water levels in resevoirs. Al Dutcher, UNL extension state climatologist, says we can expect more moisture in western Nebraska through May; however, he cautions that water authorities are likely to be cautious with allocations until we get more than one year of increased water.
