Several farm program deadlines are coming up and are new or changed from previous years, according to Doug Klein, program specialist with the Nebraska state office of USDA's Farm Service Agency.

Aug. 15 - 2008 Acreage Reporting Deadline
Sept. 16 - 2008 Permanent Disaster Buy-in Deadline
Sept. 30 - 2008 Direct and Counter Cyclical Sign-up Deadline

Federal disaster assistance became a permanent program in the 2008 Farm Bill and will mean new applications and deadlines for some producers. For more information on the new programs, contact your local FSA office, watch this week's Market Journal or check these USDA News Releases:
