A UNL Extension clinic on early season crop management options will be March 19 at UNL's South Central Agricultural Laboratory near Clay Center. The clinic, which will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., will include presentations and field demonstrations on weed control, herbicide selection, and fertilizer application methods.

The SCAL Crop Clinic is targeted at area crop producers but also will be useful to crop consultants and those in agribusiness who advise producers, said Richard Ferguson, extension soils specialist. Speakers will share information on early season management options and producers will be able to see how those options compare in the field. Ferguson and Mark Bernards, UNL Extension weed scientist, will be presenters.

The event is expected to be the first in a series of hands-on crop clinics at the ag lab this summer. A disease clinic is planned for June 25.

The event is free and registration is not required. UNL's South Central Agricultural Laboratory is 12 miles east of Hastings on Highway 6 or 4.5 miles west of the junction of highways 6 and 14, north of Clay Center. For more information, call the SCAL at (402) 762-4403.
