Gail Fuller, Kansas farmer and no-till and cover crop practitioner

Gail Fuller, a Kansas farmer and longtime no-tiller, will lead an all-day workshop Dec. 18 on the costs and benefits of integrating cover crops to improve soil health. Fuller, who farms with cover crops, believes "integrating covers/biological primers is the best and fastest way to improve soil health." 

The workshop, "Do Cover Crops Help your "Bottom-line" — the Economic Benefits and Costs of Cover Crops upon Cash Crops, Livestock, and Soil Health?" will be from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Table Creek Golf Course, 56331 1 Road in Nebraska City.

Also making presentations during the workshop are:

• Josh Lloyd, president of No-till on the Plains, with an economic analysis and how to use a new analysis tool;
• Ray Ward, owner of Ward Laboratories, Kearney, Nebr., on the pluses and minuses of anhydrous ammonia on soil health and cover crops;
• Experienced cover-crop growers and agribusiness representatives on crop rotations and practical solutions; and
• NRCS representatives on resources and grants.

Registration and Information
