Weather

  • Widespread Moisture Lowers Drought Severity; More Snow/Rain Ahead. An exceptionally strong and slow weather system moved through the central US this week, bringing the most significant and widespread moisture Nebraska has experienced in over a year. While you can't escape drought with a single rain, soil moisture is at field capacity in the top 1-2 feet in much of the state. More snow and rain lies ahead for next week.
  • How Snowy, How Rainy, How Cold did it Get?  It varied, by the numbers.
  • CW Soil Temperatures Updated Daily at Midnight. Soil temperatures can fluctuate a lot in the early spring and this year is no exception. CW soil temperature maps and tables are updated daily and the average for the week, departure from normal; high and low temps, and the soil temperature taken at midnight. Today's temps are in the 30s.
