Is Retirement on Your Horizon? Consider these Points - UNL CropWatch, Oct. 28, 2012

October 28, 2012

For decades many of Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers have chosen not to retire, but rather to continue operating their ag businesses as long as possible. Others have chosen to formally retire, which can mean a  machinery or livestock sale, a land sale, and reinvesting in long-term options to provide income.

In this week's Cornhusker Economics, David Goeller, deputy director of the North Central Risk Management Education Center, discusses what to consider when planning for your retirement.  The Risk Management Education Center is housed in UNL's Department of Agricultural Economics. Read more on retiring from farming or ranching.
