Wheat Plot Tours June 15-17 in West Central Nebraska - UNL CropWatch, June 3, 2011

A series of Winter Annual Wheat Field Days will be held in west central Nebraska June 15-17. The tour of field days is sponsored by UNL's West Central Research and Extension Center in North Platte.

The tour will start on June 15 at the Ella Missing Community Center in Arapahoe at 5:30 p.m. CDT.  It will continue at 8 a.m. CDT June 16  at the 4-H Building in McCook. From there the tour will continue to Brule where the group will meet at the Town Café at 5 p.m. MDT.  The tour will conclude in O’Neill at 9 a.m. CDT at Blarney Stone.

Each field day will cover a short presentation or series of presentations and include a light meal (breakfast or dinner depending on the time of the field day). The program will be followed by a trip to the variety trials where attendees can examine current and developmental wheat lines. Topics will include nutrient management, variety selection, and a wheat disease update. Registration is free.
