University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, along with Kansas State University Research and Extension, Oklahoma State University, and Colorado State University will be offering a series of workshops on insurance issues in agriculture.

The workshop — Using New Tools to Manage Risk — is designed for crop insurance agents, agricultural producers, lenders and educators, marketing consultants, and others interested in helping themselves or their clients make more profitable risk management decisions, according to KSU Professor and Extension Agricultural Economist Art Barnaby.

Presentations at each workshop will include:

  • The Farm Income Safety Net and the Next Farm Bill
  • Standard Reinsurance Agreement
  • Changes in the Crop Insurance Program
  • Grain Market Analysis and Outlook
  • With a Common Yield Guarantee in CCIP, Adding Price Options Creates
  • Revenue Coverage. How Does the Historically Wide Wheat Basis Affect Those
  • Price Options? Are Cash Settlement Prices the Answer?
  • ACRE, SURE and Ad Hoc Disaster: How Can Anyone Sell Crop Insurance?

Registration
