2013 Nebraska Dry Edible Bean Variety Trials Results on CropWatch - UNL CropWatch, 12-18-2013

Dec. 18, 2013

Results of the 2013 dry bean variety trials conducted by the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center have been posted in CropWatch.unl.edu.

The 2013 dry bean variety trials were planted at two locations. The great northern, kidney, pinto and the Cooperative Dry Bean Nursery trials were planted at the Mitchell Ag Lab and all market classes were planted at the Scottsbluff Ag Lab.

The report includes a description of the trials and several tables that list yield, moisture, test weight, and other data for each variety within the market classes. The descriptions include detailed information about the plots, such as planting dates, seeding rates, herbicide treatments, row width, irrigation, harvest date, and other details.

Results were compiled by Jim Schild, extension educator; Robert Hawley, extension technician; and Gary Stone, extension educator.

The results are in the CropWatch Variety Testing section and accessible from a link to "Other Crops."  This section includes dry beans, oats, peas, proso millet, and sunflower.

In addition to the website, the report is being published in the Bean Bag newsletter published by the Nebraska Dry Bean Growers Association.
